What is the difference between a compiled list and a response list?
A compiled list is derived from public records, telephone directories, auto registrations, and surveys. This information is maintained and continually updated in a large database and overlayed with additional information such as job titles, etc. The primary advantages of compiled lists are comprehensive coverage, more demographic selectivity and quicker turnaround time.
A response list is derived from known mail order buyers, subscribers to magazines and space ads for specific orders. These are lists of individuals who have already responded to offers and are likely to respond to additional offers in their area of interest.

What is an SIC Code?
A Standard Industrial Classification code is assigned to each business by the U.S. government to define and analyze an industry. ListsAmerica uses a 6-digit SIC code system that enables you to segment an industry and capture business changes as they occur. Are there minimum order requirements?
The minimum order requirement is 3,000 names, with a few exceptions. Although there is a minimum, ListsAmerica’s representatives can advise you of the most effective way to order your lists. If your list falls below the minimum, we can recommend additional list selections that could be valuable to maximize your investment.
In what format are the names provided?
ListsAmerica can provide you with the names via email, on cheshire labels, pressure sensitive labels, sheet listing, index cards, magnetic tape and diskette. What is a good response rate?
A list response rate is often confused with list deliverability. A list could be 100% deliverable, but perhaps you didn’t get any responses to your offer. Automatically a mailer assumes that the list wasn’t "good". However, it could be that the mailing list was targeted towards the wrong market. Know your target market ahead of time before ordering a list. Our account executives will help you choose the right list for your offer.
The national rate of response for direct mail is ½ to 2% and depends on a number of factors - attractiveness of your mail piece, cost of your product, timing of the mailing, copy, etc..
Will all of my mail pieces be delivered to the list I purchase?
A mailing list is a very important part of your direct mail campaign. However, mailing lists cannot be guaranteed 100%. The deliverability of ListsAmerica’s compiled lists are guaranteed to be at least 93% accurate, although we cannot guarantee the accuracy of phone/fax numbers. We will refund the third class postage rate equivalent for any returned mail in excess of 7% of the total number of pieces furnished by ListsAmerica. ListsAmerica must receive those pieces within 60 days of the invoice date. In no event shall our liability exceed the cost of the mailing list.
